Inspired by the famous Hemingway six word short story, in a 2012 issue of O Magazine readers were asked: “What would your six word memoir be?”
I remember at the time I read this, I was more than a little lost in life. Not only did I feel like I didn’t have six words worthy of stringing together, but I felt the living I was living had lost it’s sparkle. I was existing, not living.
I ruminated over this challenge for days, until finally, the answer came. In a moment of clarity I suddenly knew I not so much needed a six word memoir but a six word mantra. Not only did would these help lift me out of my funk but gave me the hope I needed again that I could stop existing and start living.
And the answer? “The best is yet to come”.
So today I invite you to do the same – what six word memoir or mantra would you use to describe your life?
