It’s Tuesday night, and outside a heavy rain is lashing at the windows. I’m tired, hungry, and the herculean effort required for me to make my weekly yoga class on time has left me a little stressed. Yet here I am, laid out in “corpse pose” and awaiting one of my favourite hours of the week. It’s the one time where I surrender to being selfish and putting my own needs first. And it’s what makes me the best mother I can be.
It wasn’t always this way though.
