Hello baby girl,
All of a sudden you are a sweet and so kissable 16 month old! It’s been so long since the last letter to you; forgive Mummy but life got a tad crazy when it came to moving house again. Yes, that’s right, in your short life you have lived in no less than three different abodes. But I am certain this house we know love calling home will be the one you remember the most.
So, what’s been happening since I last wrote? Well, for one you took your first steps at 13 months and a few weeks on there was no holding you back. From uncertain stumbles to running in full flight. And you have not stopped since!
You are just a whirlwind of fearless adventure who adores the outdoors. You are never happier than being outside or at a park, and have no hesitation in scaling heights that your big brother would cower in fear at. You’re aging me prematurely with your daring and bold ways, but at the same time I am trying to not stifle this side of your personality.
There’s been two trips to emergency as well, and a nasty tumble down some tile stairs. Like I said, aging your mummy with worry! But in all honestly your immune system seems to have coped well since that other big first – starting daycare. After a teary start you now wave us off before we’ve even unpacked your bag! We adore your teachers there and know those 2 days a week you are in such good hands and getting some much needed social interaction with others your own age while Mummy gets her head back into the writing headspace. It’s been something we’ve been yet to find since we moved – some little mates your own age – so this has been great for you. We really miss your baby friends from Mum’s group back on the central Coast, don’t we baby girl?
Your big brother still dotes on you and tells you every day “Zara, I’m your best friend!”. He still gets in your face far too much for your liking and I am not sure you quite like his preference for being so loud but whenever we pick him up from school you give him an excited squeal and smile, having missed him for the day. He’s been a very good extra set of hands for this Mummy, God bless the big age gap for that!
It’s a beautiful age, this one. Your personality is blossoming everyday – the good and the bad. I’ve seen you in the early stages of throwing tantrums, but I’ve also seen the side of you that’s glorious and gorgeous and just bloody funny! You’re just as happy building lego or chasing a ball as you are pushing your beloved bubba around in her pram or playing Barbie. You are a chameleon, you are a character and you still adore a good snuggle with your mummy. You are simply the best, baby girl. Happy 16 months old my sweetheart.
Love your Mummy xx

Such a beautiful little poppet! x
