The best gift I ever gave myself – plus giveaway!

October 17, 2013 By Donna Webeck

It was May 2007 when I found out I was going to become a statistic of a major demerger of the iconic Australian company I was working for. Shocked and saddened at the news, I became momentarily brighter when they mentioned the very generous severance package on offer for affected employees.

Workmates began researching and booking expensive holidays and buying pretty little gifts to cheer themselves up.

Me? I simply wanted to buy myself a dishwasher.

So it’s not a stretch to see why I was happy to trial Finish Quantum with New Power Gel considering how attached to my dishwasher I am.

While the packs are small on size, what they lack for in quantity they sure make up for in quality. Not being overly brand loyal in the past, I had quite a few variations to compare it to. Happily I found the Finish dishwasher detergent to bring sparkling results to my crockery and cutlery.  But if you still need convincing to make the switch to this brand , try the Finish Protector product, an easy dishwasher cleaner that will help eradicate colour fade that cloudy not-so-clean appearance for your everyday items.

Would I switch long term? Probably.  At a RRP of $10 each it can add up when a pack is small and your use is high. But there is no second guessing the results are worth the little extra, should your budget allow for it.

So if you too are as obsessed with this kitchen appliance as I, good news! Just tell me what you do with the time you save by having a dishwasher and the best one will be sent a pack of Finish Quantum with Power Gel and Finish Protector (RRP $20). Winner will be judged on Thursday October 24, 2013 at 12 noon and is only open to Australian residents.

I use that time for stuff,
Reading or puzzling (I can’t get enough!)
Sometimes I even watch trashy shows on TV
Or soak in the tub, or play on the Wii.
As long as I’m not scrubbing and washing away
I’m happy to do whatever you say 🙂

I run round and do the rest of the housework so that I can sit down and rest when everyone else is in bed and I am alone!!!!

I use the time to catch up on all the other tasks that need to be done. It’s never ending really, but such is life.

I will use that time to read books with my son – these days he is learning how to read and with all the housework I don’t get much time to help him with reading.

I’ve not long had baby number 3 so I would gladly use the extra spare time I had to one of two things. Optimistically – getting in a few extra minutes of exercise to try and lose some baby weight. Realistically – sitting down and enjoying a hot cup of coffee; emphasis on the hot!

In the time that I save using the dishwasher, I’m busy dirtying even more dishes to put in the dishwasher for the next load! Baking, cooking dinner, feeding Little E breakfast, lunch, dinner. What would I do without my dishwasher? I know, I was nearly pulling my hair out!
