You still flip like a pancake each time I put you on your back to play, but thankfully you finally seem to be happy to spend your awake/play time on your tummy. You reach for your toys, bang them about and shove them all in your mouth in excitement. Everything with grasping distance has become a chew toy!
There was also the love of balloons as Grandma discovered with you, after your big brother’s birthday party. Its always so amazing watching you discover something for the first time – your eyes grow wide and then your whole face glows. A very cute discovery was the effect Harrison’s light saber on you. Screaming the house down during witching hour (as is your want to do each day, unfortunately!), while Mummy was juggling cooking and getting your bottle ready, all of a sudden the house was filled with silence. I was scared something had happened, but no, you were just enthralled by the lumescent green light. The force is strong with you little one – something that pleases your Star Wars Daddy greatly 🙂
Of course, you’ve also discovered some not so fun things – like food. 3 times we started and stopped this whole solids caper – lets hope we are onto something though after today’s best ever attempt (thanks Aunty Shez for the recipe suggestion!)
Sometimes I think you may never love me more than you do right now, Miss Zara. The way your face lights up when you see me makes me think I must be your stars, moon and sky; your everything. I’m making the most of it too, as I know you will soon start to explore the emotion of being cranky with Mummy. Once you begin to hear that word loathed by children the world over (‘No’) you might not think of me as your universe. But for now, while you still cant crawl, still cant get into mischief and still cant get into trouble, its all sunshine and light with us. Long may it stay that way too baby girl
